St.Johns Hospice
The Hospice has been the club's designated charity for the previous 30 years ever since one of our members was admitted to the Hospice. The care and compassion shown to the patient and his family was an inspiration to us all. That was many year ago and since then there have been others from the club who have experienced the same dedication. 
Although there are dedicated and professional people caring for patients the Hospice does rely upon many volunteers to assist in general duties, reception, gardening and maintenance etc. so if you feel you can help give them a call.
The hospice provides a 16 bed In-Patient Unit, a Day Care Service and an Outpatient Clinic.
However the other fundamental aspect of their work is the education programme in palliative care and the bereavment councelling and support they give to the families at this most difficult time.
