LADIES SECTION
Brackenwood golf course is a parkland municipal course measuring 5270yds or 4819 metres. The par is 71.
The Ladies' Section is run 'completely separately from the Men's Section although two Ladies are represented on the main Men's Committee. A proportion of the ladies' subscription is paid to the Mens Section to help with the maintenance of the clubhouse.
The Lady Captain for 2012 is Mrs Bov Garrett. There is a membership ceiling of 55 members but at present there are a few vacancies available.
We are a very friendly welcoming group of ladies who meet every Wednesday morning for 18 holes of golf where there is a booked tee time. Following the competition there is a members' social meeting in the clubhouse. We have a Ladies' Invitation and a Mixed Invitation cometitions each year and also play matches against other local clubs on a home and away basis. There are several social events throughout the year.
There is a one off joining fee of £55.00 and the annual subscription is £70.00 which includes a years competition fee. As Brackenwood is a municipal course, mebers are required to pay a green fee before playing.
The present green fee is £12.80 for the under 60s and £ 7.50p for those over 60. It is possible to purchase a five day yearly contract but the cost for 2012 has not yet been fixed. However, last year the contract cost £283 for the under 60s and £227 for the over 60s.
