9 HOLE HANDICAPPING SYSTEM
The rules for a 9 hole handicapping st=ystem were introduced by CONGU in the 2008-2011 handbook.
Ut was introduced mainly for club members who work and were finding it difficult to lay in sufficient counting handicap competitions to maintain their handicaps However, the 9 hole competitions are useful for more senio golfers who are unable to complete 18 holes.
In a 9 hole counting competition the scoring is stableford with a "neutral" 18 points added to the 9 hole score for the 9 unplayed holes. Members entering a 9 hole counting competition have a 9 hoole competition handicap. This is calculated by the Handicap Secretary from CONGU instructions. It is NOT always half of the full CONGU hanndicap.
